Honours Thesis

My thesis was about connecting with my heritage and culture. I had chosen to work with 3 different mediums to challenge myself in steeping out of my comfort zone, especially with sewing a traditional Filipino clothing inspired piece, called ‘Barong.’ The painting is a portrait of a well-known Filipino national hero and activist, who rebelled against Spanish Colonizers. And the sculpture is a typographical model of the Philippines. The roughness terrain of the country is of great importance as it helped deter the Colonialism expansion to certain part of the country.
